This painting is my homage to founder of the Delta blues, the great singer and musician Robert Johnson. Apart from his incredible talent he was using quite a marketing – he claimed to have sold his soul to the devil on crossroad.
In the painting it is represented by the shadow, which apparently can not be belonging to the musician.
When I did this painting I was also on crossroads of my life, having to make some difficult choices. It was incredibly depressive life-phase for me, which however helped to give a picture overall dark mood.
